shopping cart race for charity
Center Portion served as the headquarters for team Big Pain in the Nissima, as they prepared for this urban Iditarod through the streets of Chicago. They welded, painted and crash tested their shopping carts in our studio space, and gathered over 2 tons (yes, tons!) of food for the 2009 Chiditarod's charity of choice, The Chicago Anti-Hunger Foundation.
Since this team is made up of professional sailors, the rainy conditions on race day did nothing to dampen their spirits. In addition to collecting more food on their own than the entire tally for the 2008 Chiditarod, Big Pain in the Nissima won the race, as well as taking home the trophies for Best Sabotage and SuperBonusChallenge.
